I don’t think it’s an issue at body text size, Christian. In display work, oldstyle is rarely a good option.1 -

It’s not really two font vendors. It’s a young designer and a business that owns some legacy (“classic”) rights. AFAIK, Berthold has not published a new design for many years.3
